Blech…

Woke up Sunday morning feeling puny, and am now home w/full blown head cold. There have been a lot of folks out sick at work the last couple of weeks. Obviously the long run on Saturday dropped my immune system a bit, and now I’m paying the price.

I’ll try to get a small weight & stretching workout in today. My legs are still pretty tight and I need to loosen up.

Frazz

Yep, I love me some />
It’s really nice to have a member of the triathlon tribe in the mainstream media. Most of the world just doesn’t understand…

Got ‘er done..

21.52 miles, 3:30 and a near perfect out-&-back splits. 9:45 pace and felt really solid for the whole run. Nice to run on the trail and save the wear and tear that comes from running on the road.

Saw some great stuff too. Lots of mallards and geese of course, but also a great blue heron and a huge hawk.

Long stretches of trail where I was alone, and far enough away from the road where all I heard was my footfalls and breathing.

Lovin’ the long run, and feelin’ a lot better about the race at the end of the month.

Throw a lifeline to your future. – lifehack.org

It’s 35 degrees outside, cloudy with a chance of snow flurries, and I’m procrastinating my 3hr run by surfing the web.

Then, I read this little gem

a lifeline to your future. – lifehack.org

Like a crystal bullet between the eyes, the article really spoke to me. This past week has left my brain like boiled mush, and nothing I did this week pushed me one inch closer to Kona. I’ve got to keep that dream alive and moving forward.

So I’m jumping out of my chair, popping a few podcasts and new tunes in the Nano, and heading off to the D&R Towpath to commune with nature, my thoughts and the peace that comes with the long run.

Delays…

The MUSS is still back ordered. Last night I called USA to find out when I could expect my bike. When I ordered it, I was told 3-5 days. Then the bike appeared back ordered until 30 March. Now it’s supposed to arrive at their shop on 12 April.

And they are still taking orders for the bike.

Grumble…Grumble…

What a week

The DC trip was a bust. Due to a technical problem at work, I got a late start and missed the train, then chose to go back and work on the problem rather than take a later train. Good thing too, because it took most of that afternoon and most of the next day to resolve the problems.

A high point was receiving word from />

Dear Gregory:

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have passed the Certified Information Systems Security Professional competency examination – the first step in becoming certified as a CISSPĀ®.

So this morning I decided to treat myself to a ‘mental health day’. Ran some errands, started cleaning up the garage and signed up at the YMCA, and washed the MTB and road bikes.

It’s 5:00pm, and drinky-winky time!

Magical day…

This Monday does not suck. It’s been a day where I’m completely in the flow, and moving through all my next actions, clicking them off, resolving issues, and generally GTD. Meetings are going well, actions are being assigned & accepted. I feel like I’m on top of everything.

Feeling great today…

Poor weather timing

I thought that I could hit the timing just right, with a trip to DC just at the peak of cherry blossom blooms. Looks like the weather is going to beat me out of peek-peeping.
Thursday’s weather will be windy and in the 50’s. After the rains forecast on Wed night, most of the blossoms will be pretty beaten up.

I’m still going to try and get a “mall run” in on Thursday evening!

Video Fun – Part 1

Way too cool… Mute Math “Typical”

Besides being a kick-ass bit of rock-&/or-roll, the video is really amazing. Apparently recorded in one take.

Yeah. You-Tube killed MTV.
